Corpse Consuming/Detonating Builds in Simulacrum
There is an issue with these builds (I play Detonate Dead + Sacrifice) as the delirium mobs don't leave corpses behind when killed. This is manageable although annoying in maps because the map mobs will leave corpses that you can use or there's enough room for you to dodge around until your minions respawn.
But in the Simulacrum, it is completely impossible to finish the encounter. I run 3-5 Skeletal Brutes and 3-5 Skeletal Clerics. The unreliable corpse/monster targeting means you inevitably blow up the clerics or their rez is on CD or they get killed by monsters or they just stop doing anything (not sure if this is them waiting for their rez to CD or a bug). No clerics mean no more brutes, none of either means you're in a tiny, enclosed space with no minions and no corpses to use and tons of mobs that swarm you, surround you, and kill you. And this is not an easy feat for them as I have 12k ES (overflowed to 24k), 2.5k life (overflowed to 5k), and run MoM with 1.2k mana, 76 all res etc. Having to wait 6 to 8 seconds for your minions to respawn and having nowhere to run there's just nothing you can do. Blink maybe buys you a second. In early waves when the DPS requirement isn't as high it's reasonable to slow play it and only detonate maybe half your minions then wait for them to respawn. But the later waves (I made it to about 8) require constant high amounts of DPS which I am absolutely able to do... if I have corpses/minions. Some solutions to this would be to either have delirium mobs leave behind corpses or make the CD of minions reviving not reset when you consume/detonate one. Last bumped on Jan 12, 2025, 11:40:56 AM

They have said that adding desecrate to poe 1 was "the worst decision they ever made" so I don't really see it happening. I was surprised when I saw they had a skill that allowed you to use minions as corpses. The idea behind this build is super cool and it's extremely strong if done right, I just hope lack of delirium corpses and/or minion revive timer thing is an oversight that they recognize and fix. I have wracked my brain for ways around this and there is just nothing you can do when the game decides to RNG your clerics especially with how random spell echo/spell cascade is.
Another thing they could do is add an option to, say the sacrifice gem that lets you decide which minions/corpses it will target/prioritize. |

Agree.
Sacrifice revive timer restarting everytime one of our minions die means you have less and less minions until you reach zero and have to wait 6 seconds for them to respawn again - this is just bad. With the decision to have monsters in simulacrum not leave corpses.. somthing have to give! |

Agree. I can do every other piece of content in the game, but delirium monsters not dropping corpses when they die means this piece of content is impossible with DD build. Very dissapointing
