Everything being slow in PoE2 is a serious problem.

First of all, for those who are complaining that the game has to be difficult, forget it.

Think about the reasons why the game is difficult:

-Mobs and bosses with LOTS of HP and high damage.

-Characters that are slow to move and attack.
(This is even worse for melee classes)

-Huge maps, where if the player dies, all mobs respawn, and the player still loses the loot they didn't pick up from the ground.

-Horrible loot that makes you feel like you haven't progressed at all from Act 1 to Act 3.

The problem is that, even if these are positive points, this will make it unfeasible and extremely tedious in seasons.

No one in their right mind will want to go through all of this every 3-4 months, let alone do it with multiple classes.

And this is coming from someone who had no problems at all during the entire campaign of the game, nor did they ask other players for help to kill a boss.

I finished the game completely solo.

But it's something that has to be admitted, even though I haven't played PoE1 for more than 20 minutes, I think it's extremely unfair and a disservice to PoE1 players who were expecting a sequel, and not a Soulslike mixed with Diablo 2.

So we have 2 huge problems with the current state of the game on EA:
1- The huge focus on making the player slow IN EVERYTHING, plus bosses and enemies with huge HP and damage, makes it impossible for this to work in the season system like in other ARPGs like Diablo.
2- PoE1 fans were expecting a sequel to PoE1, not to the Souls series.

a bit more movement speed is fine but zipping around like poe1 like a lunatic on drugs, not even noticing what mobs you encounter was so disgusting

It seems like you didn't even read what I wrote and already wasted your time with the [Removed by Support] argument of "this is not a PoE1 reskin!".

It seems like you're not realizing the problem that this was supposed to be a Diablo-style ARPG. And not Souls.

The Souls series is not meant to be played in seasons, and to be updated every 3-4 months.

Even though I liked the game's difficulty (except for Trials, which are a cancer), I was also expecting another genre of game focused on loot and building builds. Not something purely Soulslike.

Of course, this way is not good either.
However, the game needs heavy buffs in movement and attack speed and spell casting.
If the players needs to explore such huge maps, it is an absolute necessity for this game to live in the season system.

Having to dodge boss attacks doesn't make the game a souls like game.

Diablo 3 had you dodging boss attacks in pretty much the same way, it just lacked a roll button.

Addition of dodge roll doesn't make the game DS.

PoE2 takes a lot from Last Epoch which has similar mechanics heavy boss fights.


Boss fights in PoE2 are a step in the right direction.

Rolling is optional. Attacking is something you do in about 80% of all computer games.

You literally have no argument here. And you don't even try to make one.
I'm not saying that the design of the boss fights is bad.
I'm just saying that the game is so focused on the mechanics of rolling and attacking, that it's forgetting that it's not a Soulslike, but rather a Diablo like.
Where the player has to feel like they're progressing and becoming powerful.

This is something that doesn't exist in the game currently. Because of how slow everything is, and how everything melts the player's HP bar.
