The merc left his damage at home

I've been playing as a mercenary and with the base fuse time being 100 years you'd believe that nothing should be able to just stand there and take it unless their a boss or rare. I just had an entire pack of the hyenas laugh off the poison and regular grenade combo after taking every single projectile damage node and grenade area node i could reach. the general playstyle of mixing ammo is super fun and gets across the fantasy of being the super prepared merc that's always got a tool for the job so no notes there.

ps: please for the love of all that is holy please either put in a teleport or give iframes to the dodge because the way it is now feels incredibly clunky and kills you more often then helps you. Also my merc made it to the caravan before every seeing an exalted orb. a chaos orb dropped from the act 1 final boss and i literally couldn't do anything with it because i hadn't had a single rare or exalted orb drop from a mob.

My ranger is 1000% better than my merc, and i'm not even talking about the clunkyness.
All the multiplier are better, he doesnt need to reload, not even counting the time when the merc doesnt auto reload when empty, making me hit a button / click an extra. The grenades are nice but can bounce everywhere on top of having an hoorendous cast speed.

Everything my merc does, my ranger does better, faster, and with no clunkyness.
Dear god this. What is the point of making a ranged class where most of their abilities are best used at 2m or less? If you want to do that, give him a black powder blunderbuss instead of a crossbow. Or a scythe since at 2m you're practically a melee character...

Also, the damage on those initial skills is really low. I understand that the point of ice is to freeze so low damage isnt an issue, but the fragmentation rounds are just pitiful.
To be fair though, its great in narrow twisty corridors but sucks in open maps.

The grenade fuse is so long I'm not going to bother taking it.

Also, mana cost is taken on loading the rounds, not using them? that makes the intended permafrost/frag combo more expensive than it needs to be.
