Quest during Act3-Cruel transition

I have Sacrificial Heart from Act3 in my inventory (taking up 4 slots, undiscardable) when I went back to Ziggurat camp, and entered gateway to get to the place to continue quest I just get insta ported back to Cruel Act1 beach

Same issue here. I didn't know where to turn it in, then wound up in Cruel. Can't turn it in now.

Same problem here. Attempting to go back through the portal puts me back on the beach

I'm currently having the same issue with the heart, and the idols in my inventory. I went back to act 2 and beat the final boss hoping to be put into pre-timeskip act 3 and still no luck.
Over a quarter of my inventory is now held up.

I killed Doryani, but before talking to him I used portal to sell items. I didn't see any npcs so i took the gate thinking id go back to regular town and got forced into act 1. Re-killing Doryani doesn't do anything.

I had the same issue. The only solution i found was joining a party from someone who was in the correct part of act3 and port to them.

Bumping because it's really annoying. I stood on the riverbank in act1 and my inventory was full with quest items. The idols and the heart.

Same issue here. The time portal doubling as the start for Act 1 Cruelty is the culprit. Even if you have unlocked Cruelty, it takes you all the way back to the beach in Act 1 Cruelty.

had the same problem the portal seam to be bound both to switch from the past/present and to port you in cruel. So if you want to go to the past of act 3 from the present you need to go through the portal and do the first zone of cruel, port back in act 3 and now you have acces to the past, do again if you want to access act3 present...
