Character naming and ID

What is the current character naming approach? Are they required to be unique or is there another form of ID in place?

Personally, I absolutely hate when I can't choose my preferred character names because another player has them already. It is incredibly immersion breaking for me, and I think this is a fairly commonly shared sentiment.

Please please consider an alternative form of character/player ID, and allow us to live our fantasy role play by picking the names we want!

Asked this myself....I hope that it's possible to create the same name multiple times and not being used forever.

A huge reason to have the account identifier numbers is so you don't need unique names.

If that isn't the case they kinda dropped the ball. Regardless this name has/is always mine.

If names are not unique the amount of scamming will be insane and chat log will look like a mess.

I like the unique name system. It makes all characters unique. Just be a little creative when naming a char.
