Chaos DoT builds nearly non-existant anymore
I think besides Neon saying melee is high on his list, I really think Chaos DOT build also need to be on that list. Normally you will see at least one high ranking deep delve blight or ED/Contagion build. This league though, next to no one is playing Chaos Dot Builds.
We have an entire Ascendancy "originally focused" on Chaos builds. Now, you can't find hardly anyone playing the Arch type at all. I wanted to play blight this league, but it's far harder and takes far more investment to scale than any other type of elemental damage. Also, with lower damage and having a lot more buttons to push, you really got to like the archetype to play chaos DoT. They really need to decouple Poison from Chaos. So that one can be adjusted without destroying the other or make two different kinds of Wither one for Chaos and one for Poison. A solid nerf to poison builds was just shy to a nuke from orbit to Chaos. When I say Chaos DoT need to be fixed, I don't mean rework the entier ED/Contagion/Blight set up. I mean things like neither spell power or base spell damage does much to help Chaos builds damage. For Chaos DoT lvl 4 wand with a single +1 Chaos spells gets you more damage increase than a rare wand from Act 10 with act 10 spell damage ETC. Since spell power and flat damage is so weak for Chaos build it leaves you to have to craft +1 All spells and +1 Chaos making it cost loads more for mediocre damage. TLDR: Chaos needs better ways to scale damage and needs to be somewhat decoupled from Poison, so that each can be adjusted without nuking the other. Remember the hardest nerf to Chaos DoT builds (which were just marginally ok) was due to nerfing Poison due to fixing a Poison bug.
