Does aspect of stone work with boneshatter self damage?

The damage taken per Trauma stack counts as a hit, which means that skills like Vengeance will trigger, Cast when Damage Taken Support will trigger, etc.
It also allows your armour and/or physical damage reduction to prevent some of the physical damage taken. However,the damage cannot be blocked or evaded via evasion rating/dodge.
"Avoid damage from hits" effects (e.g. Elusive) do work, however.
