SSF would be so much better with this one thing...

Free tree point reset.

finding new stuff and changing on the go with out having to redo another character through the main campaign. i dont see why SSF cant have a few QOL changes to make it a better experiance with out making it too much extra work.

Well, the SSF is not the main mode or the mode that the game is built around so it's unlikely they will put any effort into it. If anything, it's a compromise mode which was added after some players started playing 'regular' leagues without using trade.

Also players who play SSF for difficulty increase might be absolutely against such feature because it would make the game easier for them which completely ruins the purpose of why they started to play SSF in the first place.
While only playing SSF. The reset orbs are already very easy to get, so I don’t really see a reason to make it even easier.
Reset the character skill tree and the atlas tree is no biggie at all.

I generally play solo and without trading, and I hate that idea. Make a build, play the build. Respecing is for mistakes and minor tweaks and you get enough free points and regrets for that. "Free respecs" removes too much "RPG" from RPGs, leveling up and making decisions should matter.

It sort of is since all the major races are SSF only.

With all the extra effort going into ruthless, I don't think this argument holds up any longer.
SSF isnt only mode that woud get much better. I bet A LOT of new people left PoE permamently because they started the game w/o a guide, the got to maps, started struggling. Went to the internet, asked for help and someone said "your build shit, you need to remake it from zero". SO now he need like 80 orb of scouring (whuch for new player is insane amount). So what will happen? He leaves.
SSF is not a separate game mode, its a checkbox. You play on the same server as trade players, thats why you can opt out. What you ask for is server change, not client change. Not gonna happen.
It's always that "one thing". Either way, I don't approve. SSF is self imposed suffering. Let us suffer together.

We get so much raw currency anyway. Scours and regrets very easy to come by. You'll have hundreds lying around in your stash in no time.

This isn't solely a SSF issue but an issue that affects the game as a whole. New players screw up, want to basically full-respec, but can't because they don't have enough refund points. They then have a choice of struggling, re-rolling, or quitting altogether. None of those are good options.

Personally, I think respec-ing should be free up to Act 5 Kitava (with obvious warnings that this functionality will change afterwards) and then one full optional respec after Act 10 Kitava (a use it or lose it deal).

Though I think they would probably have to re-balance quest rewards and Regret drop rates, so I don't really see that happening.
I’ve been playing SSF for a long time now. A free tree reset is wholly unnecessary and does not address the main issues that SSF has. Regrets are easy to acquire. You can easily farm enough to do a reset in less time than it takes to create a new character.

In SSF, it isn’t a good strategy to try building in response to what you find. If you play that way you’ll be constantly rerolling to use builds you still don’t have full gear for. The proper strategy is to learn how to craft and how to target farm the pieces you need and stick with your build as you slowly improve it to meet your objectives. If there’s a build you really want to play and you find a key piece of it - maybe then it makes sense to respec or reroll for it - but it has to be literally build enabling to make that worthwhile.

The number one problem with SSF is Uber Elder access. Challenging content should be consistently accessible when you reach the power level needed to attempt it.
