Can't Equip Celestial Cat Forbidden Rite Effect (MTX)

When I left click on the Celestial Cat Forbidden Rite (FR) Effect to equip the MTX effect, nothing happened. It doesn't show that it's "In Use" like other equipped skill effects. I am using a Mac.
Tried and no change: logging in and out / unequiping the skill gem / making it self-cast. I was able to switch between the other MTX I had, but just not the FR skill effect. On the bottom right hand side of the Cosmetics window ("K" by default) there should be a selection of your equipped skill gems - are you able to select your Forbidden Rite gem there and apply this microtransaction from the menu that pops up?
