Months? Oof that would be tough. I understand a week to 10 days for the existing staggers they have due to up to the last minute development on league's, but a major expansion/sequel, years into development? They really should have a universal launch, like any other big company would.

Especially after D4 launched multiplatform at the same exact time, with cross play, and bnet account sharing (I can log into pc or PS5 at anytime which is so nice)

So yeah, maybe I was mistaken. The Lolcahol video that dropped recently actually has some compelling evidence that Grinding Gear might be Sega Madladding us after all and dropping right into PoE2 in "3.22". It's not CONCLUSIVE evidence, but it's more than rumor and hearsay, too.

What I personally am starting to suspect is that 3.22 might be the last league played by PoE1 rules after all, and the beta for 2 will launch concurrently with 3.22. Then we get 4.0.0 in the nominal 3.23 spot, so right around a holiday release. Exactly where Money Business Brains want it.

They don't drop "Path of Exile 2" all at once. 3.22 could be the debut of a number of the PoE2 core systems, with the holiday release bringing the rest of the core systems and the new campaign story. They've always said they'll port improvements to the game into PoE1 whenever those improvements are ready, instead of waiting on 2. 3.22 could be the Big Item/Skill Reflux, blowing up every Standard stash in the game and getting the new skill system that's kinda the core of Path of Exile 2 into the wild. Then the heart of the game - the new campaign, characters, animations, and the rest - come a league later after Grinding Gear has had time to piss out the fires from the Great Reskillening.

If Lolcahol is right, we may not burn through our entire copium reserve after all. Dead gods I hope the man is right. I've kinda had it with playing the Old Busted, I am slobbering over the New Hotness.

Yeah, I touched upon this on the previous page in this thread (don't worry, I don't expect you to read every post in here, especially posts made by me). It makes a lot of sense, and they have a history of "dripping" new, updated "PoE 2 stuff" into the mix, like the Heist character presentation and text boxes.

Yeah, I touched upon this on the previous page in this thread (don't worry, I don't expect you to read every post in here, especially posts made by me). Oh this has definitely been going on for some time, especially with assests. Hell the Sanctum bosses were part of PoE2 videos.

That's said, simply becaue one YouTuber translated the PoE Chinese realm with some text messaging setup for beta availability coming soon doesn't mean we will all be playing PoE2 in 6 weeks lol.

Regardless. I know it's by no means a sure bet, but I also know there's a finite limit to how long Grinding Gear can string us along with promises that never deliver. Frankly I'm astonished they've gotten away with it as long as they have. They wouldn't have, if the pandemic hadn't been a thing. If they do ExileCon the Second and announce that 2 is still several years away, I don't know if they'll be able to deal with the fallout.

It is time, high time, and past time that we started seeing real movement on this thing. If they want anybody to keep giving a shit, they have to let us have it at some bloody point.

"We"? Maybe not. Beta testers? Not that far fetched. How they'll arrange the beta is of course unknow. Payed? Open? Closed/invite? Random? Seem to remember the 3.0 beta was random.

The 3.0.0 beta was random invite, with keys sent by default to anyone who had spent above a certain point in real cash as a nod to the whales. I anticipate the 4.0.0 beta will be much the same.

Oh beta for sure. Thats no doubt coming soon. I'm saying it should be long, big, and public. Marketing hype be damned, they have to get this right imo.

Once the game release (I'm looking at you November) and say it is called 4.00. 3 months later we can expect a new league where they can introduce additional yet unreleased material that will be core.

When I think about how archnemesis progressed and how it is now integrated, I can see they have working on all this for quite some time. The Scourge league and Crucible are certainly connected. They have had 3 years to work all the POE2 content into the game so it works like they expect.

I expect the new acts and I think that the old 1-10 Acts will be shortened or there will no point to anyone playing them ever. If ten acts were reduced to 7 with all new art and shuffled pacing, those will get played especially if that path offers some different rewards than the new path.

3.22 might well be a dead league if it has to compete with an open beta for 3 months. How would you make 3.22 compelling enough in that situation?

Btw we've previously mentioned that there is a Path of Exile 1 expansion launching a few weeks after ExileCon and a lot of people are speculating that it's secretly the start of the Path of Exile 2 beta. Just wanted to clarify that that's not the case.

ExileCon is the jumping-off point for Path of Exile 2's marketing. We'll also be showing it at Gamescom and PAX West with playable demos, so its beta is still a while out. You'll find out all the dates at ExileCon in July.
