Corrupt Gem Interactions

Hello,

Could somebody please explain how corrupt gems interact with other (corrupt and non-corrupt) skill gems?

I recently Vaaled a 20% quality 20/20 Summon Raging Spirit gem, resulting in an unchanged corrupt version, that became unusable with my uncorrupted Unleash support. Before the corruption this allowed me to stack up to three seals of SRS minions, but this is no longer occurring. The interaction between the two skills is fixed when I swap out the corrupt SRS gem for an uncorrupted version, once again allowing me to summon three minions at once.

Is this an intended corruption mechanic?

Is it possible that when you put the vaaled gem back into your item the hotbar is showing the Vaal version of the skill and not the regular version?

The gem itself isn't a Vaal gem, it's a corrupted version of the normal gem. Here is what it currently looks like.

You have the unlinked corrupted summon raging spirit in your shield selected instead of the 5 link chest armor.



Or you had the uncorrupted one in your shield selected instead of the corrupted one in your chest armor before you moved them.

Solid logic! If this is the case I'm going to feel really stupid as that's my backup exp gem for failed corruptions. Thought I'd used the correct corrupted version listed in the 5-link, but will check when able as this seems like the correct answer. Thank you!
