Testing Lost Ark, ruined this leagues time frame for many players. End the league 1 month short.

New popular top down games don't happen every league. So asking to end this league early, sounds fine.

Tho this league LA happened. & Yeah I've quit Lost Ark. 8 skills on a hotbar wasn't enough. PVP had no progression or good maps. The PVE maps weren't open enough. P2W is lame. Forum mods for LA gave people 1 year bans, for simple negative feedback threads. Their aren't enough reasons to party outside of dungeons. The skill tree customization was too small. Mostly a NPC mobile phone walker. So everyone's quitting Lost Ark, who isn't a noob to the mmorpg genre. LA already lost half its playerbase. 1 mill to 500k now (& dropping). More p2w exposing vids everyday = less ppl.

While it may be the players fault for testing LA. Still, I'm sure half the playerbase of POE tested LA. It ruined the leagues time frame. Before Feb 12 LA's release, I had a 72 Templar. I didn't play POE again till 1 month later, where the league seems pointless to rejoin. To each their own.

Even if a new mmorpg happens for next league, I doubt it'll be a top down mmorpg. Also their doesn't seem to be much arriving till Ashes of Creation, like 1 or 2 years from now. So for sure no new top down mmo's & no good regular mmo's either for a long time.

So yeah, why not end this league early & give half the people who tried Lost Ark. A reason to play POE, earlier, than waiting another freaking few months or so. No thanks.

Everyone's bored of LA after the 1st month, but were not gonna return to POE for a wasted league time frame either.

This may be news to you... but I really doubt the next league will be ready a month early :p

500k...the absolute horror, I hope they make it.

New World had good numbers less than 2 months later. They didn't make it.

Not to mention some of those numbers are bots. Tho ye they lost 500k in 1 month, so half per month gone, another half pop gone every month. It's gonna be a dead game, with only bots & whales soon. Worst than New World. At least New World died from only bad design (or bugs). Tho LA dies from bad design AND bad shop. Lots of people find LA boring & lots of people hate the p2w. If they didn't already get banned for some stupid reason. It's not gonna gain players, only lose.

It won't be lower than new world but I do think it'll head in that direction pretty rapidly, primarily because they have created a mentality where players rush to T3 but there isn't actually anything that goes on at T3.

Only game I can think of thats been relatively successful with the you rush to content them farm it for months while hating yourself is Destiny. MMO's obviously have a similar model but a full content cycle is more than an easy instanced fight so they (arguably) get away with slow content cycles.

Honestly i've got a bit of bias going on though thats colouring my take as I think LA Is extremely amateur in so many ways design wise and I hate mobile type transaction strategies to monetise games. Obviously Ironic saying that on GGG forums.

I'm not gonna derail your thread further, which is absurd in its premise already, essentially "Hi GGG, I'm done with your competition, can you please speed up your normal development window, I'm bored"


Furthermore, LA isnt a new game, it's an established game with tons of content in the pipeline. Does it have some issues?Sure. Do western gamers clutch their pearls on P2W more than other regions? Fuck yes. LA will be totally fine overall. Everyone trying to do 3 years in 3 weeks is outrageous from an expectation standpoint. But here we are in 2022.

I hate to break it to you but GGG continues development on their league right up until launch day, which means that next league simply isn't ready to release early, even if they were to pander to your demand that they change how they do things just because you are bored.

Fair enough if they're not ready to release.

Especially after this leagues run or lack of.
Also people on this forum blame Elden Ring too.
However I believe any single player games hype, even as big as Elden Ring, only lasts a few weeks. & It has, Elden Ring hype has died down. People already beat ER 4 times over.

As for LA, waiting in town for some tiny raid, be it T3 or whatever. Is lame. The raids have some boss mechanics, but not much to do besides that. The raid mobs are boring to clear, so you just run to a boss & that's it.

Than you're only allowed a few entrees, for the raid. Unless you want to use alts. Yet everyone is multi playing alts, so that's not unique. Makes having 1 class as a main nearly meaningless. The game wasn't made for a main class.

It's nearly dota without a good pvp dota map (no lanes, no turrets, no npcs / just a simple arena map with none of that). That is to say, they'll introduce a few new classes, yet the skill list & skill customization is too small for all classes.

So ye I doubt T3 T4 or any daily login raid, is gonna keep pve players from staying. The pvp content has all the pvp'ers leaving already. The questing is mostly a single player solo experience. Even if the game wasn't p2w, it would still fail.

To the guy who said that saying, " New World is Dead " is some IGN article. Um literally all of youtube has said that New World is dead. Nobodies gonna re-review New World, not this year, not next year. Then imagine if New World had whales, or was p2w from the start. Would be double dead.

I quit LA yesterday after collecting the freebies and doing dailies(couldn't break the habit).

They are down to 388k peak today but who knows how many lost since the update were just non verified steam accounts for bots. I expect them to settle around 200k concurrent in a couple of months.

Anyway, it was really unfortunate they couldn't get the league out in early to mid January and beat LA launch by a few more weeks. I'm curious to see what Raiz, Nugi and datmods do when the next POE league launches. Will they all return to being poe streamers for the first month of every league?

You want leagues cut short cause Lost Ark didnt kill Poe like all the rest of those overhyped games? Hm.
