GIGANTIC Atlas Map drops nerf
Everyone are blind or something? How did anyone miss that?
Old atlas full completion: 80% of maps to drop 2 tiers higher (180%) New atlas with all invested in bonus map drops: 88% of maps to drop 1 tier higher (88%) ??? This is ridiculus, I urge developers to reconsider, or did you forget to double the numbers? Don't ruin this promising expansion with your GARBAGE map scarcity ideology Last bumped on Feb 3, 2022, 8:41:36 AM

It's quite entertaining how people have been complaining about the dumbest stuff but somehow this one was mostly overlooked?
I expect a lot of people to get hardstuck at T8-T10s because they'll go for an endgame focused passive tree way too early. I'm sure there'll be some clowns that put points into Maven even though they've never killed her. Last edited by Scarletsword#4354 on Feb 3, 2022, 6:30:54 AM

Not really that big a problem given how many extra maps will drop...

One is sure: This will be the most respec-intensive-atlas ever.
If you play SSF or HCSSF you definetely need a solid map strategy in the beginning, if you like to continue and not hit a very very hard road- block on the way. So first step: Build up a map pool. As big as possible. Like a squirrel or a bear before winter comes. second step: Change to high mob density nodes. third step: specialize - play what you like, fun will come with a dely on this atlas (especially in SSF/HCSSF) regards Arkon |

Doesn't affect me as much as a casual ssfhc player.
I dont do full atlas completions, never have and probably never will Also, Just given those numbers you put up seems to me like getting higher tier maps will be more difficult to get, which I find good. At least for trade, those maps are more valuable? If that makes sense. .-. .. -.- ..- -.- .-.. .- -.-- - --- -.

I just checked the Atlas passive tree. It looks like it's 100% to be 1 tier higher, not 88%.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

we cant be sure they havent adjust base map drops too. we shall see i guess.
with the ability to turn our entire atlas into t16 maps, it would be a little strange if the drop rates did not allow us to sustain t16 maps or even require us to take those drop buff nodes to do so. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

OP: If you invest into map drops, you will have WAY MORE maps dropping now than before. Travel nodes give chance for a connected map to drop and later ones give chance to duplicate map drops. Note that the old tree provided no way to passively invest into map drop quantity (other than scarabs and juice, which you can still do).
You are losing 2 things in the map drop category: 1) Maps have 80% chance to drop 2 tiers higher. If you get enough drop quantity, this really doesn't matter. 2) Increased chance for guardian map drops based on Awakener level. If anything, this is the nerf as you cannot invest into this until you reach the pinnacle of the tree (so rather than the drip feeding that Awakener level did, you get it all at once at the end only). But with the new sextant mod as well as Kirac getting you these and the like, this is not that much of a nerf. In return though, you are now able to get 100% chance for drops of 1 tier higher MUCH earlier than previously along with all the extra map drop quantity. |
