Forbidden Jewels = Chase items done RIGHT

I'm surprised nobody is already talking about these, but the part of the reveal most exciting for me personally was the Forbidden Flame and Flesh jewels. The concept behind these jewels is just awesome, and they fundementally change the way ultra endgame builds are designed and geared. Juggernauts can get Aspect of Carnage? Raiders can get Gathering Winds? Assassins can get Swift Killer? Yes, please.

Having rare, iconic, powerful unique items which change the way a build functions is a PoE staple going back to the first few leagues, but PoE often has a problem with putting the best uniques into generic drop pools (Mageblood), or into specific league drop pools (Stranglegasp), or worst of all gated behind div cards which are best farmed with Stacked Decks (Headhunter). There's often very little incentive to fight endgame bosses more than once per league, other than challenge completion which many players don't care about. I probably sold a dozen Maven Writs during Ultimatum because... Who cares?

I'm genuinely looking forward to killing Exarch and Devourer over and over again during Archnemesis. And I haven't felt that way since the Shaper was first added to the game.

i think these uniques that tap into an existing pool of mechanics are great. watchers eyes, the aul amulets etc where it gives us so many outcomes. its not like a disfavour where you find it and now you have it, theres a reason to keep going back for more and more and more of them.

these jewels have that, but they are also game changers when it comes to builds in a way thats radical compared to a watchers eye or an aul that are mostly just a power bump on what u were already doing.





this is a really big expansion on paper. i dont rly have a lot of time to put into the game atm, got a lot on, and its a shame because it seems like such good things are coming.

unless GGG went full Hateforge on it and the league will end with less than 200 of them dropping

or the usual 'fragment' strategy when youll have 95% Berek Pass and 5% Berek Respite

GGG has cool ideas. but they are so unbelievably stingy with drop % that they can ruin them completely. Aul during Delve anyone?

Why to talk about something that will be unobtainable for regular player?

For SSF forget getting matching ones.
For trade - Something that will likely start at 1 mirror for "bad ascendancy" to multiple mirrors for good ones. It's not even in the consideration for planning.

They dont get me more pumped than a 3x Hatred Watchers eye... But they are a very close second... Super cool concept... bout time IMO

The idea of chase items for the atlas actually discourages me from wanting to interact with it despite recent positive changes which got me to start interacting with it again in scourge with the reduction of total required maps.

I don't want more layers to the atlas which empower the rich getting richer, the game is supposed to be about depreciating gains but they just keep buffing the juice you can put into your atlas instead of giving us new ultra-endgame content that forces the player to decide where they want to devote their time instead of just unlocking the required elements and facerolling burial maps for the remainder of the league.

please stop adding layers and keep it about where you have it now and give us something beyond this in the future, let the newbies learn to fight with the big boys and then join the elites in the ultra endgame.

ultra endgame also having drops of headhunter/mirror+ rarity and higher giving the most hardcore players something to truly chase after and since it will not be in the atlas then you wont keep widening the gap so severely.
