Game crashes at loading screen, can't access the game.

Yesterday I tried to load my game through my NVIDIA driver which is fine for all my games, when I did that to path of exile, I saw a patch loading (I dont know if there was a small patch yesterday) around 120MB. ever since then, I ALWAYS crash on loading screen after choosing my character, the gear icon freezes then the game closes automatically, and I've tried many "Fixes" as some people suggested in other topics or forums but none seems to work, I'm running as admin, I've run the pack check, disabled fullscreen optimization.

It's really sad I have to start playing with settings and files whenever this happens, the game was working just fine with all my settings on the pc as it is, so naturally, all those fixes that are related to changing or deleting some files will never work, it might make it worse actually.

I will post my dxdiag and I hope someone be able to help me, since ggg will only receive emails for microtransactions and payment related inquiries only.

EDIT: the game works now when i switched to Vulkan?? even though the lag spikes are more than usual.

nice that you could solve it with using vulcan.

your dxdiag crashed when you ran it?

also, your pc has 2 graphic cards, one separate card and one integrated in the cpu.
you need to make sure the game uses the dedicated gpu.

Thank you for replying,

I'm running on NVIDIA card and the game recognizes it, the other one (Intel graphics 4600) makes it hard to even walk around in game with 5 FPS or something, and that of course goes back to this card being very old , so yeah I always run it on NVIDIA.

Now about that crash error, yes I got this message when I first opened the DXdiag to extract the report but it never occurred again since I selected don't skip, I'm not knowledgeable about this specific error whatever it was, but I don't believe it was related to the issue, correct me if I'm wrong.

Now as I said, Vulkan is unplayable, the CPU skyrockets on the graph when I display it in game, but whenever I try to switch back to Direct11 the problem comes back, I'm not sure what happened that caused this but its definitely related to yesterday's patch, because it only started to happen after the patch took its course.

I thought the fact that I have DX12 and the game doesn't provide the option to run on it is an issue but I discovered that its backward compatible and its fine, beside again, I already had DX12 for a long while installed now even before starting POE.

I really hope someone from support can reach out as well because I don't see them active on other posts.
i looked at your dxdiag again, what's weird is that it doesn't recognise the graphic cards' memory. also the driver isn't whql certified.

try updating it, maybe it works.

Thank you for replying,

Can you explain more on how it's not recognized? because this definitely has an impact on my card performance.

what can I do to fix or improve this?
i would update the driver for the gpu.
