You mean like how in 3.15 about 50% of people were just gone in a week?

Even if you were right, how is this good game design?

TR and Seismic are not great though by any means, they just had really popular videos put out near the beginning of league start.

This.

I'm playing TR Champ on Standard fully geared out.

Sure, it deletes T16s.. but it really lacks end game boss DPS (Sirus, Maven).
This happens when half your playerbase only google 'best build poe' cause it uses the fewest amount of brain cells. Those are the same people complaining about the game being stale after 2 weeks and quit. It's just the usual cycle.
A 'starter' only exists for prople playing longer than 2 weeks and we all know that's just me and some other people.

It's nature of many players, nothing devs can do about that. At least they're not catering the game towards those people, that's why the game changes all the time.

Honestly those aren't even the best builds, just the ones with the most clickbait ahead of the league. So it's all good ;)

its gonna be kinda funny on console's global chat, lots of people will be complaining about how bad seismic trap feels because traps just feel awful on console since you can't precisely throw them where you want.
And if there weren't popular builds, you haters would be here telling everyone the game sucked because there weren't any popular builds. It's really getting old. PoE has been dying for the last 10 years. We've heard it. It's not news.
Criticism can be valid without the game dying.

But but... There also skellies!

Nerf minions now!

I think you should learn a thing or two on how Steam Charts work.

They have a smoothing algorithm that make current numbers and chart look much different when you observe only the last few days (daily highs and lows visible) as compared with smoothing for several months old charts where smoothing algorithm eliminates all the "daily bumps".

For example:

- on the "last 7 days" chart, you see daily changes ("bumps")

- on the "last 30 days" chart, you still see them, lightly smoothed

- on the "last 90 days" chart, daily bumps start to "disappear", i.e. are smoothed out

- on the "last 180 days" you can clearly see where the "heavy smoothing algorithm" kicks in (hint: around Aug. 20):

Notice how, the older the steam chart is, the more it differs from the "fresh" take?

Now look at this:

Now, compare your chart, the period Jul.21 - Aug.21 with the current PoE chart for the same period above

Note: The chart above (below yours) is the exact same POE Steam chart (1 year), just generated 2-3 weeks later, after some more Steam Chart smoothing algorithm crunching.

Notice something? Now the "same" chart, for the exact same period, looks quite different only a few weeks later, right?

So no, 50% people gone in a week never happened, it's just the Steam smoothing algorithm weighting data differently. If you take the snapshot after a few days to a week for any league, you will always see this "sharp drop after 2/3 days" simply because Steam weights daily ups and downs more and does not smooth them out.

You can even see this "OMG such a drop!!!11" at the very end of the chart for this league too - that's because it weights daily bumps more and does not smooth them out. Sounds familiar?

Look it up after 2-3 weeks, and this "drop" disappears, look it up after a few months, and dropoff of any and all leagues look more or less the same.

There you go.
