Option to scourge currency orbs to their tainted versions?

I think it would be interesting to allow us to put currency orbs in the Blood Crucible to convert them to their tainted versions:

Armorer's Scrap ---> Tainted Armorer's Scrap
Blacksmith's Whetstone ---> Tainted Blacksmith's Whetstone
Chaos Orb ---> Tainted Chaos Orb
Chromatic Orb ---> Tainted Chromatic Orb
Divine Orb ---> Tainted Divine Teardrop
Exalted Orb ---> Tainted Exalted Orb
Jeweller's Orb ---> Tainted Jeweller's Orb
Orb of Chance ---> Tainted Mythic Orb
Orb of Fusing ---> Tainted Orb of Fusing

This would give a clear reward structure of Scourge mechanic for those who don't have items to be scourged or don't want to take the gamble of bricking their items. Also, this will increase the supply of tainted currency orbs so that more people can experiment with crafting on corrupted items. Moreover, by changing normal currency orbs to their tainted versions, the former is being consumed and removed from the market, making normal currency orbs more valuable.

If this new mechanic is too rewarding, it can be balanced by the amount of blood needed to scourge currency orbs; the more valuable the tainted currency orb, the more blood needed to scourge it. This also gives another payoff of Scourge mechanic that is gated by the number of Scourge monsters killed. On top of that, this mechanic should be unlockable with Scourge passive points (probably requiring 30 or 40 passive points selected) so that only players who have been engaging with the Scourge league can unlock this mechanic. This gives an incentive to players to play with the Scourge mechanic often to unlock more rewards from this mechanic.

I'm aware that there could be technical issues of displaying the progress of scourging for normal currency and that normal currency halfway through the scourging process may not be stackable with normal currency not being scourged. As such, I propose that once the normal currency has started the scourging process, it cannot be removed from the Blood Crucible until it has completed its transformation to the tainted versions.
