Random Crashing, Again.

GGG gets a crash report after you restart the client. Coming to the forums saying your crashing doesn't help; GGG knew long before you got here.

Unless you have reproducible steps or know what is causing your crashes, such as using scorching ray (Yes, this is a thing and it's new), then you're really not doing anything constructive to help solve the issue, since they are just going to go with the data set they get from their crash reports.

Oh man, you hear this guys? We cannot go on the Technical Support forums to notify people, GGG and Other players, that the game is crashing because GGG gets a hidden report after each crash. So, you have to wonder if it is on your side or there side.

You heard it from Aragorn. Pack it up and go home. Not allowed to report a problem.

That is not what I said. Your reading comprehension needs work.

Also, had you bothered to read any of the stickies in the forum:
"
If you get a Client or Instance crash, we receive a report automatically the next time you start your client. Report it here in a thread only if you have reproduction steps that will let us find the problem.

Vulkan = Crash less often but have insane loading times

DX = Crash crash crash but fewer loading issues

You can't win.
Same issue, crashed about 5 times, mainly during loading into a new zone.

Has anyone had a successful fix yet?

I don't wanna give false hope or anything, particularly since we have diff cpus (1600x, 16gb, 1080 here), but I was able to resolve my crashes for the most part (about 5 hrs in between) by using the affinity .bat. I recalled the last time I had crashes this bad it helped mitigate them, though I hadn't needed it for the entirety of Expedition league, figured it was worth a shot.

"
cmd.exe /C start "" /affinity 555 "G:\Library 3\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe"

again, reiterating that our crashes may be for a completely different reason. Mine were dx11 on zone transition.

GGG gets a 999999 crash report half a year.
GGG did about nothing.

Sad :(
Observed that crashing typically happens while switching between zones, and also have had relatively good luck at league start with crashes and client issues in the past.

I checked the program called Event Viewer on Windows and saw AppModel runtime errors similar to these under Custom Views -> Administrative Events:

They happen basically constantly while I play. The exception code above refers to an access violation, typically NPE. With the theme of NPE, my client logs happen to show a few missing files sound effect files logged at the WARN level:

But I actually think this could be related to my own nvidia drivers -- maybe a system call that was released in a later version. I'm going to reinstall them (for me, the GTX 960 october 12th release v496.13) and report back.

No dice.

These are the same type of error messages I have, missing files it's looking for or something.

Would be nice to get some feedback on all of this. Game is unplayable.
