Who else wants see WAR from New World in Poe battle royale ?
I have not tried battle royals because I am casual player started few months ago and feel I would not stand chance and be obliterated by min/max pros who have many years experience
But if Poe had teams in battle royals then I believe casual players like me would be more willing to join without feeling pressure of winning by self. And since casual players are most of your population vs top 1% pros - it will encourage more players to join. It can be something like 50 vs 50 wars in New World. It is one of most exciting modes and fun to play and watch. You can be casual player but feel like you can still help team win - without feeling pressure or intimidated to win by self. It can even be smaller teams like 10vs10vs10 capture flag wars Teams would be amazing. Who else wants team wars for Poe? There's already not enough people to get BR started every time.
Yet you expect you'll get 2x that amount for shit like this? Wouldn't happen. Even capture the flag gets literally no people playing it unless you organize it on the forums. New World was also the most boring thing I've watched in a decade. |

Not exciting? New world has over 600K daily players and peak 900k on steam charts.
They have no problem getting 50 vs 50 wars constantly. Big reason is what I mentioned - it’s much easier for casual and newbie players to join when in group so it’s less intimidating. The fear of getting crushed in PvP is much less when in team. GGG needs focus on casual player which is most of their population base vs top 1% if they want expand player base. New World has figured out how to do team war right and GGG should check it out. Otherwise RIP battle royale because it will be same 1% pros playing it only. Never understood what the deal is with pvp in New World. If I want large scale PvP with huge battles, castle sieges, siege engines and multiple objectives on the map (as well as decent rewards), I will just play Guild Wars 2 World vs World. GW2 also has a very well done constructed pvp that you can start doing almost immediately, never touching pve (if you so desire).
As for PoE, this game can barely handle ONE player playing the game, not to mention 50 vs 50. PvP in PoE is completely busted, I still remember going to that Free For All arena in Sarn for PvP dailies, simply holding one button teleporting through the entire map and one-shotting people off screen, getting all the kills I needed. It was hilarious but also sad. So no, PvP in PoE is not going to work, especially not a large scale one, not with its netcode and overall performance. Don’t see how performance is bad in poe. I play Poe on 5 year old imac hundreds of hours and only crashed like 3 times. Performance on steam is fine for casual player like me. Unless u have bad pc.
Are devs out to lunch all day? GGG pays devs big bucks to expand game like hopefully adding team wars in future. Especially if it expands player base. Have you seen guild wars in steam charts - its minuscule tiny. Good luck getting team pvp in that game. If any game has chance to compete with amzn juggernaut new world it’s Poe. Nw has wars to take over territories so not sure if GGG can come up with similar overarching goal for playing battle royale. Of course poe has to scale down abilities so balanced in team so pros cannot 1 shot them. This is what discourages newbies and casual players from playing battle royale. But fear of getting crushed in pvp is much less in team. Last edited by jinspin#0367 on Oct 15, 2021, 8:56:50 AM

" Yes. Yes it is. In fact it is the worst performing game I have ever played, and I have played fallout 76 beta. Witcher 3 on ultra with graphic mods runs better on the same machine than PoE, not to mention loading times into towns (even on SSD). " Not sure if trolling or joking, or just incredibly ignorant, but there is a reason why you won't see Guild Wars 2 on steam charts. It's because it is NOT RELEASED ON STEAM. In terms of online, it's one of the top MMOS based on active players, not much lower than Final Fantasy (I think last count was about 2 mil active players). PvP is so active that there are queues to ALL Wolrd vs World realms during prime hours, so many people play it that you have to wait to get in, and some are filled even during off hours. And WvW in GW2 has WAY more people than 50vs50, so again, not sure what New World has to offer vs PvP experience in GW2. Last edited by MECHanokl#1095 on Oct 15, 2021, 8:58:05 AM
