Expedition: CWDT does not trigger Vaal Cold Snap but Cold Snap

Hi Experts.

I want to setup CWDT + Vaal Cold Snap. Unfortunately this does not seem to work while it does for Cold Snap. Both are Level 1 and linked; CWDT goes first. Having enough souls i can trigger Vaal Cold Snap manually although this should not be possible according to CWDT description. Swapping from Vaal Cold Snap to Cold Snap it works.

Is it new mechanism Vaal Gems cannot be triggered?

CwDT can't trigger vaal skills.
Read the skill gem again.

Cannot support skills used by totems, traps, or mines. Vaal skills, channelling skills, and skills with a reservation cannot be triggered.

Ok, got it from a build posted on poe-vault but seems to be a paper build only.

Usually using Vaal skills in cases like these is intentional. You will get the regular version from the trigger condition, but you still have the option to manually use the Vaal version.

I do not know what build you are following, but based on it being linked to CwDT, I would expect Vaal Cold Snap to be used to gain frenzy charges in single target scenarios when you cannot gain them from kills.
