Sirius boss fight not evasion friendly
This league I'm playing an elemental hit raider and having a blast with the new boss fights. All content is great, ultimatum, Maven, conqueror's etc. Except the Sirius boss fight. I've played him before with way more tanky melee builds and there he was easy, but with the ranger style it just doesn't work out, here is why:
- You are constrained to a super small arena. This means that if you leave, Sirius starts spawning one of his giant blood orbs of death. This is fine if you are melee, but if you are an evasion build you rely on dodging enemies, this means you can no longer dash. You can imagine that most players have a 20/20 dash skill by the time they get to the Sirius boss fight. Just compare the range of the dash skill vs. the size of the arena of Sirius and you will understand. - Sirius teleports and constrains players at certain points in the fight. Some of the situations are easy to get out of, but when you are in the middle of a dashing, this means you either dash outside the arena or inside another blood orb of death, instantly killing you since you don't have any armour. Normal attacks by Sirius are fine and easy to dodge. It's just that the boss fight is the only one that I know of that teleports/constrains the player and has a small arena in which you have to stay. By this point I find the Maven fights easier than Sirius, I don't know if that was intended. Those are designed very well, with you able to dodge and have some space to maneuver. My build has layers of dodge/evasion and 5.2k HP pool which is very comfortable in most maps. I switch between barrage and split arrows for single/multi target damage and bosses die quite quickly. I wish there were more choices for end game map content. I watch the videos guides for this and can't see what's going on because it's too dark. The fact that you only get one try is even more off putting.
I've beat Uber Elder and you could at least buy more fragments if you fail. In the Sirius fight it looks like there's more one shots and by the time I get to try again I'll have forgotten what I learned the first try. I wish they would itemize this fight so I could try again or sell it to continue mapping. I think with evasion you need at least one other means of defense/sustaining, such as high life regen/life on hit/leech. I'm playing a max dodge raider with MoM/agnostic and its pretty much unkillable in Sirus fight, can take full die beams with corrupted blood jewel equipped.

Yeah I'm running 5.2k life with 55% spell/attack dodge and high evasion, next to a fully maxed pantheon. I have two bleed flasks, but I still get one-shot by the beams sometimes and also by the bleed orbs that he spawns. I refill flasks using snipers mark and am able to sustain those. The problem is that the fight is very choppy and you have very little chance to practice it with a new build. All the warlords have 4 stages at which you can practice at increasing difficulties and I have never died with them. Sirius has no practice stages and the usual dash and dodge playstyle that works with any other boss in the game is no longer good for this boss. I have to adapt my build just for this boss which is unfortunate.

Evasion doesn't work against spells. Sirus has spells only.

" You can take out watchstones before talking to Zana and opening his citadel if you want to practice at a lower awakening level. He's a lot easier on a5 and below, each level increases the level of the zone by 1 and gives him more hp. Also on A8 he heals back to 75% life before last phase. Also what you said about dash in the first post is true. Yeah I don't know what to do about that. I can tank fully juiced T16 map ultimatum's and defeated the trialmaster first try, since that is a well designed boss fight. It's not about how tanky I need to be, more about how badly designed the boss fight is. You also need to stand in a corner for half a minute to have Sirius float towards you until you can continue the fight... I mean who came up with that?

Armour doesn't work against elemental damage normally, yet bosses like the Eradicator (no physical), Veritania (almost no physical), and Baran (mostly not physical) still exist.
You can't rely solely on just Evasion or just Armour. |

" is a good boot (wrong enchant for this boss BTW) Some rubbish build that as Ranger does not stack dodge (both attack and spell) and only stack Evasion or only stack dps and call them evasion build. Or should people rename their build as evasion/dodges build? Back to the boss, the boss is hard is due to the fucking zoom level that when the boss and the clone are in a circle , you cant even saw all the boss in one screen due to bad design (the arena did zoom in and out for in-between phase storms) This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee.
