Why do ancient orbs not work as stated on unique cluster jewels??

Wanted to try and get a one with nothing jewel on ssf and I used an ancient orb on a unique small cluster I didn't need and it turned into a regular jewel.

What the fuck???

This makes no sense to me.... jewels and cluster jewels are not the same item type.....

Obviously they are. Wouldn't have thought so either, but you can't deny science.

So by that logic I can use ancients on a regular jewel and get a unique cluster?

Its a delirium specific drop why would you be able to ancient orb it?

What if I use it in a map with deli orb on it like people do for hh

Since the base type is unique to deli i didn't think the base type would change.

Since it only drops from delirium bosses i'd guess you can't. HH only required nemesis
