Weird issue with Celestial Toxic Rain Effect

Lately I have been getting this issue with the celestial toxic rain skill gem effect. Right when the pods explode, I can see the faintest hint of a white box appearing around the radius of the explosion. As you can imagine, when using other gems to make the screen full of explosions, this is not a fun experience to see the screen mostly flash white.

I have tried to mess with my settings but nothing changes it and no other skills do the same issue, even if being way more "intensive" on screen.

Is this a known issue at all or something that just I am experiencing?

Apparently this is a known issue on the bug list and I completely missed it.
