Well, its also smart becuase it cements him as "one of us" and him being the first to cross the line will benefit him teh most. I mean right now hes got 14k viewers compared to some of the others.
Meanwhile I heard that chat flamed ZiggyD until he shut down his stream, so he may actually suffer from taking the priority.
He was also probably smart enough to realize his fans would not like him taking the priority. You have to know your bases, and he knew his.
Not totally accurate, I had Ziz and Ziggy on my 2 screens.
The reason Ziggy stopped streaming was that chat on his partner Amie (and in game party member) started abusing her to the extent she stopped and was really upset because she just like to play and have fun.
Really awful set of events for the poor girl, shes so lovely and it was so unnecessary so Ziggy said, thats it were going out to get coffee and relax.
Cant blame the poor guy, its just a game and not worth that type of stress.
I see. I cant really blame the viewers for being mad, either. Complete unfairness is a hard pill to swallow, especially when GGG are so blatant about it.
I'm not as bothered by streamers like Ziggy/his wife and some of the ohter meme streamers as I am about people like Empyrian and his party of economy warriors. To me that seems way too excessive. They actually can affect the game of others, where in reality ZiggyD and such wont really affect us.

The pessimist in me makes me believe that they all did this because it provided the most reputational gain therefore the most future income. "Wow what a hero he's just like us!"

Ok lets pump the brakes here. The reason chat turned on Ziggy was the fact that he said that he thought Streamers did deserve special treatment. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. Ziz on the other hand was quick to see how this was going to land on his primarily PoE audience that was in the process of getting fucked.
I do feel bad for Amie, she was an innocent bystander, but GGG's favorite mouthpiece really put his own foot in it.

I don't know about the others but I was watching Zizaran at the time and he literally was very unhappy when he realized what they did... and he was in contact with them after 5 minutes so they could disable it. His greatest concern was about what people would think about loot drops and streamer "luck" from now on when they knew GGG could do this.

You need to read harder, I said chat turned on AMIE in her stream not Ziggy, he stopped the stream because SHE was upset, not him.

This is one of the reason why this game is very successful, it's not just the developer's effort with constant new contents and amazing new ideas--the players themselves cares about the health and longevity of the game and the veteran players really genuinely cares about the fairness of the game. There will always be scammers and rotten players--that's a given--but as long as the odds of the good are still overwhelming the bad. This game will endure.

I decided to tune into Empyrean's stream earlier to see the huge massive economical advantage everyone was talking about and from the short footage I saw it seemed like he has to sit in queue now as well and he claimed he talked with GGG to get out of streamer privilege. I stopped watching shortly after though so i don't know if that remained consistent.

Mbxtreme was not even included in the privileged streamers he could not skip the queue even if he wanted to... So why would you respect him for something he couldn't even do in the first place?!?!?!?!
