Can I make elemental zombies?

I think this is my first time using PoE forums, so I apologize in advance if this is a wrong place to ask this in or if this has been answered already.

So I want to play necro with zombies. Can I make them deal pure or mostly elemental damage? If yes, what do I link them with and how good would it be. I am not looking for an optimal, most difficult content in the game in 5 sec, type of build. Just something that works relatively well.

I still don't know how to gem it. I don't even know if I need to slot zombies into those gloves, or just having gloves on would work for all minions I summon.

Just having those gloves is enough.
It will affect all your minions.

You could have a look at witch > necromancer part of the forum to see if there's anything like electric zombies

2 leagues ago, i had a "electric zombie/spectre" build guide.

Last league i swapped over to a skeleton mage build guide, as spectres got a big nerf and skeleton mages got a big buff.

But, although the electric zombie/spectre build is not as strong as it once was, it is still usable.

One fun thing about elemental minions is that you can use certain mods that show up on 1h weapons to make them a 6 link

For a few chaos you can get a semi-6link in each weapon slot, and in helm slot, and still have another 6 link in your chest slot.
