Is vortex the best pot smasher?

I'm a compulsive pot smasher and reserve a socket just for a skill for this. I like frostblink for it, too, but as a movement spell, flame dash is way better (but a lousy pot smasher), so frostblink gets replaced pretty quickly.

It's at that point I switch to vortex. It has decent AoE, so I can just flame dash near pots, cast, and move. It also has somewhat respectable damage without supports or a build to help it, so my necromancer can use it in combat to help out when needed. I've read that some people use spark for this purpose, but the random move of the bolts makes it not the most reliable smasher to me.

In any event, is vortex the most optimal pot smasher (reliable decent AOE with even utility outside of smashing)? Or, is there a better skill I've overlooked (for a high Int, med Str, low Dex build)? Thanks!

I tend to use Arc, but that's me.

I've heard good things about Herald of Thunder. But it can only pot-smash one at a time, and reserves Mana. I think Vortex is your best bet - AoE instant. Doesn't get much better than that.

RF is the best pot smasher. yes, it DOES smash pots now.

If you have frenzy charges, cold snap will beat can you can get a good aoe across the room.
