Converted mosnters are not your minions. They're allies, in that they're on your side (briefly), but they are not minions. The skill specifically does not mention minions anywhere on it (the minion skills all do).
What are you referring to by "bosses" here? The trap should not (and in our testing does not) work on unique boss monsters (hillock, brutus, merveil, etc). It is intended that it works on rare monsters (yellow name, random mods).

The player is temporarily an AI on your side.
The enemy palyer is converted to your ally temporarily. They are not replaced by AI, they still have full control.
They are still part of the enemy team for PVP purposes (converting someone in 1-v-1 does't win the round due to no opposing team members).

This one's now been fixed locally and will be deployed in an upcoming patch
what did you die to, was said dominated enemy still alive, and are you sure you were you in range of the aura at the time?
