Canada/East server - "There has been a patch that you need to update to"

Since yesterday (Feb 22, 2021), I'm experiencing an intermittent error when connecting to Canada/East gateway. From time to time, when I try to authenticate, it comes back with "There has been a patch that you need to update to." trying again or changing the Gateway to DC appears to "fix" itself, but if I logout and back in I'll reencounter the issue.

I have fully uninstalled, redownloaded the client this morning, and cleaned up the shader cache.

Also, note that this occurs for other members in my guild while using both the 32 and 64-bit versions.

Hi there, h3dges! I'm sorry to hear that this is happening!

Could you please try to run the client as administrator, check that your antivirus/firewall is not interfering with your connection and it may also pay to complete a virus scan on you PC.

I'm having the same issue on steam. and as an added bonus the next time i launch the game after getting this message (which only comes from Canada East) it will tell me I'm installing a patch that doesn't appear in any documentation anywere.

So not limited to standalone client
I just tested with admin right, no change.

As for anti-virus, I'm running windows defender. Nothing in the logs shows anything abnormal. As a precaution, I added an exclusion rule to the folder and the executable, but again, no change. Still getting this error intermittently.
I am having the exact same problem, also Canada East. First time I try to log in it says "There has been a patch that you need to update to." Only the first time I try to login, if I try to login again or switch gateways it is fine. I have added POE to my antivirus exclusions and run it as admin and nothing changes, I think there must a problem with the gateway.
Steam client as well. Having this same problem on the Canada/East.

Has happened at least 5-6 times, sometimes even when just switching characters. There is never a patch shown in Steam. I've also noticed sometimes that when it is happening I'll get to the character selection screen and it will show some of my non-league characters as (ERROR)league with the ritual flag next to their name.
Same issue here, also Canada/East. I am using the Steam client. Sometimes after getting this error, closing the client and reopening will prompt steam to attempt to update. It indicates it is downloading something, but when complete the error reappears ingame.

Was curious, it appears to be related to purely the Canada/East server. Switching to the Washington server (21 on Canada E. to 28 Washington) after getting the error and I was able to log in properly. So 100% an issue with the server.
Can attest to this... been unable to enter any zone outside of the town instance.. cant go to hideout.. and therefore cannot play the game...uninstalled... currently reinstalling.. but since I couldnt get to hideout without a non responsive client.. im not sure whats going on.
Playing on Canada East as well, only seem to get the weird problems after 8pmish EST. Just suffered a huge spike which drained 10%, and then I got many "game server has been interrupted" (or something along those lines). I also get the "restart client to get new patch" (I just click log in again and it works usually). This has been happening for approx 4 days now.
