Awakened PoE Trade - is it against ToS?

Hi Support.
I've seen a lot of streamers use this tool to price check on the go.
Please can you confirm if this is not against GGG ToS and I can install/use it in game?

I dont want to be banned for installing and using the same tool that a lot of people use so just would like an official confirmation that it is OK to use / not bannable.

Thanks

Why not better just answer to all instead of via pm? So we all can know if using trademacro, companion or any other will make us get a ban, cos i use poetrademacro and companion, dont want to get banned for no reasson.

because they don't do that + the answer is well known = we don't advice you to use ANY 3 party software and if you do, you can get banned.
Sure it does. They are NOT going to answer the question in public nor give anything concrete or specific. If they do: It tips their hand 2) If somewhere down the line that 3rd party program does something it shouldn't, there is no where for people to come back whining on the forums saying "But you said it was safe" kinda BS.

Use it at your own risk.
"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"
Asking about an entire program like this always has the same response, what HanSoloDK and Aragorn14 said. The only exception I know of is about 4 years ago Chris Wilson approved of Yolomouse. GGG still reserves the right to change that answer without notice if (1) Yolomouse changes its function or (2) GGG changes their mind. They will also often outright say not to use program that are 100% ToS violations (botting scripts, performance boosting, etc) since anyone with a 1st grade reading level would know those programs will get you banned.

If you want anything useful from support for any tool with a history of “trustworthiness” you have to ask about specific functions. Those functions can be performed by multiple sources. Running the tool is completely fine in most cases, but many let you create ToS macro violations.

For example if you asked support if it was okay to create a macro to reform one of the two actions below, they probably would approve it. However each action must be done with a separate button press.

Can you please consider the idea of checking macros for safety + viability with your Terms of service?

How much work would this be? Is it something GGG has thought of doing?

Kind regards

again then they will check it and then you / the dev changes something and then what.... This is why the policy of GGG is what it is.

Why so useless answers.

why so useless questions??
GGG's policy is firm on the matter, like you have been told already.

But the best advice I can give you is to e-mail GGG support directly and ask for your case to be handle by a manager and take it up with them directly......

The official policy might be firm but it's no where near clear. Hence these kinds of topics.

In fact, I think the most official word we have about the policy (apart from the very verbose ToS) is a topic (put together by a user) which pulls many specific official mentions/rulings about 3rd party functions from a very wide selection of posts and platforms. Some aren't even sourced (or aren't reliably sourced). It's not exactly an official word but without that resource I'm fairly sure most of us would be nearly completely in the dark about what is or is not allowed.

The recent accusations by banned players that they were banned just for using the same vanilla 3rd party programs that everyone else uses isn't helping, but what's hurting more (imo) are the official replies that GGG 'does not recommend use of any 3rd party software, or you could be banned'.

PoE is borderline unplayable without *some* use of 3rd party software. If I knew what specific functions were getting people banned I wouldn't use those functions. If I knew a certain program was black listed I wouldn't use that program. But I *want* to play PoE, and I *want* it to be enjoyable. The uncertainty of what is or is not allowed this league is killing my motivation to play more than the bugs.

well yes, but since they (GGG) refuses to do anything regarding 3 party software publicly, as we can see again from their replies here, then there is no reason to continue arguing about in on the forum. You will have to e-mail GGG support and get their standard reply. Then you can reply to this and ask the case to be escalated to a manager and take it up with the management team. If they still says the policy is firm, then that's it......
