Question: isn't Heist a paradise for bots?

I'm not very knowledgeable on how bots work but I think heist could be a paradise for botters. I mean..

- one bot farms contracts
- the other bot runs them without completing them and just takes the loot from the chests

please let me know if I'm being way too simple here.

Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
Heh, there's even bots in Standard now. Imagine getting a currency bot spamming messages in Standard 820

"Bro u got the wrong league" :P

Pretty much any league mechanic that shows up in every zone/instance is going to be fair and fertile ground for bots.

That's like saying bugs can't exist in software

What are your bots trying to accomplish? I don't get it. Picking up loot and currency to trade for more loot and currency?
No. Bots would be better off farming chaos recipe on some easy zone. No consumables to worry about and no gear needed.

Just think of the C per hour an army of non stop bots make. Which is usually why the exalt:chaos ratio is bigger.
Bots need to stay under the radar even more than being highly profitable. If they can be diverse enough to do this, the challenge changes to how they can be efficiently scaled.

So you don't run 1 bot, you run as many as you have hardware resources for.

I don't think custom programming for Heist encounters would be worth it, if I had to choose myself I'd focus on some portion on the game that is always available, a bit diverse (to hide) and can be 'creamed off' well. For example, some different open white maps I'd get 70ish% out of would be fine.

They should probably emulate some whispers and such. Maybe go a little Sun Tzu and open a ticket.

Of course the currency flip / trade bots are easier to write.

Cheers

Did you try turning it off and on again?

Solo Self Found was the best move GGG did against bots. Their profits dropped significantly when most today enjoy the game competing. I'm sure GGG could bring trading and multiplayer back, but the way they designed the game made it easy for bots to infest it, which is why despite how much I enjoyed trading within the first year of PoE I am glad the game evolved toward what it can do rather than what it cannot.

In a perfect scenario players could play ARPG to trade items and still compete, since trading itself also require skills and gives advantage, as it allows us to separate further from our competition. I also was offered $50 via PayPal to sell some best wand I found in the league for a meta build, which was sparks back then :)

Good times...

Afaik bots farm the chaos recipe to buy exalts, then those exalts get sold on rmt sites.

Not sure if they would be able to do Heists.
