To clarify before someone says it, this isn't a bug. But it's worth keeping in mind, in case anyone else wants to try growing T4's on the cheap - you can't.

I only wanted to quickly harvest my T4 seed to run the 100 maps over the weekend so I only used T1 seeds to be able to start harvesting and planted the adjacent t3 seeds such that they do not use lifeforce.
Turns out that this way it is possible that you do not gather enough lifeforce to actually use the T4 craft and you can't even store it in a hort-station, essentially destroying the craft.

You can consume the crafts at any time after that, since the price is already paid
