Can anyone confirm if being able to chain on the ground now makes it act more like Magma orb, in the sense that each projectile can now hit twice or more instead of just once?

unclear how it'll work, and how it'll chain. will it bounce away, bounce to enemies or just around in its own internal aoe, who frickin knows.

" From what I'm seeing people say, it seems proj speed will affect how far away they bounce (i guess again similar to magma orb). That means slower proj could slow it down enough to get a second hit per proj. That would make sense as well, as it would then leave it on par with the amount of hits it can get currently (in theory) |

looks like its gonna be the same as magma orb to me with random distribution, so could become insane clear with a trollolol setup but probably not gonna be great at bosses (though it kinda isn't now anyway)

Can chain be extended? If so, between WC and chaining it could be quite deadly on clears. I guess swap out the support for chain (if it works) for single target support? I dunno...
My other concern is speed here. Molten Strike with a slow weapon feels clunky currently. I wonder how much IAS you would need to smooth it out? |

" It being a strike skill truly ruined this skill. The chain won't occur unless you strike someone as the projectiles only generate on strike. It will still feel bad. They really need to return it back to hitting the ground generates the projectiles. Thanks for all the fish!

The big question is how chain will interact with the skill.
You can without to mutch of a hassle get +1-5 chains extra. If the orbs will bounce around a bit without always going outward away from the initial target this could very well be a single target buff. Though seeing the text "covering much more area with bouncing magma balls but dealing lower single target damage" makes me believe that not to be the case. But there is still hope that we can because of "The distance travelled by its projectiles also properly scales with projectile speed now, letting you control their spread as much as you like" make the bounces stay close with stuff like slower projectiles and such. Maybe even concentrated effect will have an impact but that is very unclear. It does say "chain on impacting ground" but not how it will target. Could be that the orbs stay close if there is only one target "the boss" but again there statment with "dealing lower single target damage" makes this very unlikely. For it to be a just a change and not a nerf to singel target we need to make it able to hit with atleast 1 chain/bounce since we lose half of the projectiles. If this is possible we could just increase the amount of chains to keep the same singel target and get more aoe coverage increasing the mapping speed. What would make it into a pure buff would be if they made the skill usable without a target again. That way you could just get +1 strike and get the same amount of orbs on bosses if you place yourself correctly. I never had any singel target problems with molten strike myself but i felt it was lacking in Clearspeed in maps. This might be the change to make me try out the skill again. Overall i don´t think we should take this like a nerf or a buff untill we can see the changes on the Molten Strike jewel itself and we see how the chain interacts and if it will be possible to increase the chains. I mean if they add +2 orbs on the skill gem you can basicly play the skill the same way as before and just not using wildfire. Atleast for singel target cause +AoE doesn´t make you hit with more orbs on singel target atm only increased the AoE for Clearspeed. If they add the AoE aswell there is literally no change more than you can use the new wildfire skill if you want to change things up. Before trying it out i like this change and i think that this is how most skill jewels should be. Changing how to skill works to create a new skill not just being a buff jewel you need to socket.
