Mapping, map device and public hubs

Since I started mapping from my hideout I'm kinda missing the flair and diversity of the public hubs.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a "public map device" and be able to do this endgame activity from there?

I'm not saying it should be one way or the other, but give players the choice. I'm rather sure there would be several people enjoying coming back to their preferred hub instead of the isolated hideout.
