Revamp Animate Guardian's death system
" I love it when people throw that sentence around and don't even consider the wording they use. No. Animated Guardian is not SUPPOSED to be a risk. GGG nowhere called it that, ever. This is YOUR perception of the concept and nothing else. With how hyper melty the damage got after the rework I am 100% with the OP. Metamorphs eat minions. If it is not them it's other shit and don't even get me started on Awakener. |

Of course it's supposed to be a risk/reward.
You do know they made a craft mod that literally does for one of piece of gear what you want it to do for other pieces of gear? So they literally don't want you to retain ag with expensive gear indefinitely. You are not supposed to receive all those buffs like kingsmaker buff for free. Free fortify and crit multi, 10% movespeed (victarios), - res aura (crown of the tyrant) etc for all allies and yourself off one link with no downside is a bit too much. The downside is you can lose the equipment and you have to actually keep him alive and just not set and forget. And no, metamorphs don't eat minions. T16 metamorphs barely scratch minions. Maybe I lose a zombie here and there and in vaaled tough t16 maps maybe I lose a ruins hellion once in dozens of map. Minions build eat metamorphs actually, as they keep aggro off you. |

It will never be useful... until they give them PANTS!

" Another person thinking themselves one of the game developers. Again, that is a lot of 'Supposed' up there in your post. Unless you're on the dev team or happen to be the original creator of the Animated Guardian skill, you have no point. And gearing an Animated Guardian with Kingmaker is for starters far from 'free' as at the time of writing this the cheapest Kingmaker goes for 152 chaos orbs that is assuming it isn't a price fix. Metamorphs give about as much f*cks for aggro as everything else in the game and even nuke your ass regardless of distance with an instant barrage of projectiles or other explosions you can't avoid with all the black shit in the floor because black on black was a great idea. And really at the end of the day if this wasn't intended for players to have for 'free' as you put it, Kingmaker wouldn't exist. If you have a friend who plays an aura bot you get all those uffs for 'free' as well. Not everyone has the NASA computer to play Poe with others though for that matter so having a solo 'aura bot' in that sense seems just fine to me. Or do aura bits played by people lose their items on death? They don't. |

All you have to think is what would happen if he didn't lose items anymore? Answer is all builds would use it, having extra gear pieces potential mechanics for 1 socket cost is a pretty good payoff.
I could agree with him not losing items on death IF he had a 100% mana reservation cost and blood magic tied to it, further on when he died he should debuff the player with "severed blood ties" reducing player light radius by 99,9% for 5 minutes and you can't turn off the reservation while the guardian is dead, he respawns if you leave the map or when the debuff ends, this way you would be forced to build around it and not just put it in any build for free stats. |

"lol You don't have to be a dve to understand why something is done a certain way. You don't have to be a dev to understand that if they have technology to do something (preserve animate guardian items) and they clearly only put it the ability to do so on a rare body Armour, they clearly don't want item preservation. And free in this case means a permanent buff. Sure kingmaker costs some money but it's a sunk cost. You don't actually equip it or even weapon swap it. It's a free bonus. Stop being dense. King maker doesn't exist because of AG. It s an option for other players to use. You can use it with ag, but you have to keep him alive. Or you could hear him up with rares you're not afraid to lose and have less buffs. |

" Of course you would use zombies as an example of proof *clap* you do realise how much hp they have in comparison to most other pets, that is quite possibly the worst example that could have been used. ______________________________________________________ Anyway all of the "Animated" skills need to be reworked as they are outdated and clunky compared to most of the other skills having had some major changes over time. Animated guardian is meant to be a risk? Why then did they add a craft to keep a rare armour from poofing? such risk, very risk. Just add this craft globally to all items that can be equipped by AG making rare a safer option IF you can craft that mod on it while still keeping a fully decked out UNIQUE AG risky. Something is needed here, is that something my solution or the OP's? /shrug but AG does need to be updated for the current POE and preferably in such a way that discourages using it solely as a walking buff. Something.. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Dec 25, 2019, 3:30:42 PM

The skill works, but i too dont like it being able to die and you having to collect all the little items again.
Maybe turn it into a mana reservation minion like the HoAg, but it cant hurt enemies, just hit them. So you would have a personal little items-aurabot/on-hit proc-bot, but for about 25% - 35% of mana reserved. |

"an animate guardian has more hp than a zombie. one link animate guardian lvl 23 in a necro setup was getting like 40k hp last league Zombie health was nerfed this league, on my 5l setup they currently have 26k health. Most of minions if you actually take care of resists regen and minion leech are still tabky af, you just gotta watch degen s and use convocation liberally. |

" Entirely untrue as most people can't get him to have enough HP to survive if they aren't pure summoners, or have the open sockets to use him. What you're saying is completely irrelevant anyways. My AG is currently immortal from all maps and conquerors. He has 90k life atm with something like 6k life regen per second, even more if I drop a consecrated ground on him and convocation. But the second he steps into one of those fucking sirius waves he dies instantly and should lose all his items? That's borderline retarded. Better yet, next time one of our zombies or spectres dies then the skill gem should just brick and you're forced to buy a new one. Sounds logical right?
