I played tera and aion and there must have been hundreds of players simultaneously raiding the world bosses when they spawned. Same with open world faction vs faction pvp. Combat log was working fine there too.

Dmg calculations in poe is way more complicated than those simple games.

also the number of actions and effects in most MMORPG is heavy time-gated. e.g. Global cooldowns, dots tick only every 3 seconds, you name it. Dots in PoE tick at I think 20hz, which alone is more information than 60 players applying the same dot in WoW - and even there they heavily restrict the size of events.
