Blight going core will suck and frustrate most players
If adding Blight to core caused other issues (like lag, or memory crashes, or kept something else out of the game) then they shouldn't add it.
If I got a blight INSTEAD of Niko, I'd be pissed. But if I got a blight along with Niko, that would be fine. They would need to treat it more like breach or abyss than like one of the masters. |

" Honestly "not clearly widely liked" is mostly enough to make things not go core though. |

" Blight is fun but when it goes core, they will probably nerf drops. You'll have to like it as a mechanic to appreciate getting it in a map. Most people ignore alva for the same reason. The single biggest reason to run temple (double corrupt and specialty altars) is gated behind many layers of RNG that start with the corruption process itself but extend all the way down to whether Alva offers you decent rooms, or a bunch of shitty broom closets. You have to be a certain type of masochist to run these, or have a clearspeed build that makes incursions add negligible time to map turnaround. You certainly dont run temple for the loot. Temple Atziri drops - you guessed it - normal Atziri drops, guatelitzi and xopec mods are incarcerated behind a full slate of garbage prefixes so isolating them is a huge RNG fools errand, map rooms often drop the notorious "corrupted white maps" that end up being vendor fodder, the crafts are pathetic numeric ranges compared with shaper/elder or even other crafted mods, and the Omnitect sucks so hard it looks like a black hole. Blight looks like it will get the same treatment. Right now we're seeing some abyss pods, some harby pods, legion pods, frag pods, etc. These are cool for league play where u won't necessarily get this content anywhere else. Once it goes core, a lot of these will go away because GGG's philosophy that a league mechanic should be its own best source of league loot. What's left? Weeelll... Judging from the last 10 days of running maps in standard, I've gotten quite a few legions but only about a dozen splinters TOTAL. War hoards commonly drop only a single splinter. Scarabs don't seem to do much to boost these numbers. Best source of legion loot? FEH. On the other hand, breaches got way better and I'm zana breaching maps whenever I can because it's far more reliable. " LOL!!! Edit: Actually I like Cassia's singing. That much GGG got right. As a filthy casual it's the mycelium that forks out from the pump in multiple directions that I hate. The blight patterns that have one mycelium extending from the pump which then forks into multiple paths is ok. Racing back and forth to beat back the hordes coming from multiple directions all at once is more work than fun for the rewards received so I just skip them. personally i think they should add blight to core. i love the league. mostly the blighted maps are like....really intense great arpg gameplay. the swarms of mobs are super awesome to have.
i think they should just keep blighted maps as drops. probably as common as they are now. especially since blighted maps can drop oils now. so you get a blighted map, you run it, you get oils, then you can do stuff. so yeah if it goes core make it so the only place you can get oils is blighted maps and essentially just add blighted maps to the drop pool. i agree that i really do not think normal blight encounters should be added to the core game. no way. game is pretty bloated in that regard already anyway. but blighted maps? they'd be a fantastic addition |

PoE QoP is already suffering from having Betrayal in the core. Adding Blight to the core will further cripple the already poor performance. The GGG custom engine is being crushed under the load of too many core mechanics. Chris acknowledged in a Baeclast episode last spring (I think) that GGG is going to need to limit core game mechanics to 10 (not carved in stone but that's what he thought the max should be back then) so something will have to be retired (removed) if new mechanics are to be added to the core game. I don't think Blight is better than others in the core so if PoE is at 10 then blight shouldn't go into the core in December.

" this ^ I want to like the blights , but I think its more fun depending on your class, totems and minion chars are probably enjoying it a lot more , I stop to upgrade a tower and the pump gets overrun. IGN- Shaeyaena

" You think people will be mad if it's in the game and rare? Are 'most players frustrated' at how synthesis is incorporated right now? That's a rhetorical question btw, the answer is no. |

Blight can easily go core. Just add the blighted maps as random drops like normal maps (only rarer ofc) No need to add the weak blight stuff at all. Hard to see any other league mechanic this easy to add to core.
