WoW Classic is a threat to our community?

Everything will be affected by Classic. Gamers who have been playing one or maybe two games all summer will willingly try and then be converted to Classic.

All games will be affected.

"Threat" is a bit too extreme. People seem to forget that the player spectrum is very broad - it's not like classic wow would be an equivalent to wildstar killing itself with frustrating end game - or to be more precise it's not like Classic WoW is the same as POE doing something so displeasing to the base that it leaves in droves.

no it won't, not in a million years. I expect blight to ahve less players than legion but it won't be because of WoW

Quite a lot of games will "suffer a hit" with the launch of Classic. However, as some have pointed out in this thread already, there will be falling off points for Classic. They will be releasing content in Stages which will help their community quite a bit although, I feel, the best day for Classic will be its first day.

As someone who does plan on being super-casual next league so I can enjoy some Classic, I will be playing both. Additionally, I forget who made the point in a video posted a while ago I do agree with their thought process on it -- Classic will have a big start and then stabilize. To give an example of what that means(not exact expectations); the first month I expect to see 100% player engagement, second month 60%, third 40%, fourth 30%. Second stage First month 80%, second 65%, etc. By the end of the first year I'm expecting it'll have 30% consistent players of the very first month and who knows what'll happen second year.

With all that said; what percentage of POE players actually played Vanilla and remember it fondly? I'm one of those people and only plan on being super-casual here for one league. I'm betting that the larger percentage of Classic players haven't played Vanilla and will be much more likely to abandon it sooner.

If anyone needs a guild on Classic, don't bother me I'm solo.

I will most likely play less Poe but not due to WoW classic. I already swore off the game 10 years ago and never going back. I can't speak for others though. There are other games coming out int he coming months which will draw me away from Poe. But that is to be expected with new releases that interest people. But as always i return.

vanilla was awesome with a 100 man guild focused on actually playing. Vanilla is the worst shit playing alone with a childish community whos only motivation to play the game is nostalgia and some sort of entitlement when they remember how the barrens flamechat worked.

Sadly my free time is very limited during work days so I can only dedicate my free time for one game and it will be Classic WoW.

I might be able to to squeeze some hours later in league if I'm able to get handout package from one of my friends. If not then Blight will be first league I'm skipping since Nemesis league.
