Rime gaze + shavronnes?

Hi, since I started playing PoE I've been really tempted to try out a CI templar/caster build. Soon I'll have time to level a new char, would these two items be good for a CI build? Or is the shavronnes chest bad getting?
u dont want shavronnes chest on a ci build... defeats the purpose of being immune to chaos damage

I disagree, all you want with a CI build is lots of ES.
If Shavronne's gives you that, go for it.

But there are cheaper alternatives...

I see more problems with 55% reduced ES recovery on Rime Gaze, because ES recovery is the only way for you to recover during fights, unless you pick up zealot's oath or life leech + ghost reaver.

the reduced ES recovery on that item works the same as it does on nodes in the passive tree. it reduces the time it takes between being hit and when the ES begins to recover. so reduced recovery time is actually a great benefit, not a drawback.

Yeah I was thinking about going GR + leech. :)

I'm kind of confused now because on the passive tree, the nodes say "% increased ES cooldown recovery", rather than "% reduced ..." that you would see on Rime Gaze. Could you explain this discrepancy please?

But a Rime gaze is worth using if I go GR + leech? Considering the HUGE amount of additional ES I would get from it, thus making CI viable even with "worse" gear otherwise.

There is no discrepancy. The earlier poster was wrong. Reduced ES cooldown recovery increases the required time before ES starts to regenerate and is additive to any Increased nodes i.e:

105% from passives
-50% from Rime Gaze
55% Increased ES Cooldown Recovery.

It's a whopping negative. :(
It actually *increases* the amount of time you have to wait before ES starts to regen.

I put it on and tested it out - instead of taking 6 seconds for ES to regen (no passives taken yet,) - it took 8 seconds for ES to start regaining!

If you look carefully at the passive nodes that help ES recovery - they say "increases" recovery time. The hat says "decrease." Ughf.

This hat is going in my trash. :(
