Same problem. GPU temp over 80C, FPS is good.
If i open skill tree - all ok. Enemy quantity don't affect to my temp or fps... Ryzen 7 1800X 32Gb RAM 1080Ti Corsair Force MP500 Win10 64bit Pagefile is off, hybernation is off, all of powersaving is off. Save my 1080Ti plz/ Russian Heisenberg

Is Vsync enabled in the graphic settings ? What is your fps ?

vsync enabled, played with alienware AW3418DW, 155Hz fps = 60

Having the same issue. The frame rate limiter helps my temperature, but that's not working at all after the patch.

iìm having the same problem. i just bought a new gaming laptop i7 8750h, rtx 2060,16 gb ram, ssd and hc ofc,...the temperature and the fan are crazy high. in game i have between 120 and 150 fps

" A very important issue of hardware overheating is somehow a game dev's issue how exactly? Is this for real? Nothing, and i do mean ''nothing'' can drive up temperatures other than bad cooling, dust build up, or drawing excess amounts of frames. I think majority of you have no clue what you have. Why do you think most of us have noctua or AIO water coolers and proper airflow managed cases? Because if you are running 1080p+ on max settings with 144+ mhz screens, you bet your balls that stock cooling won't be anywhere near enough to keep temperatures at bay. No rest for the wicked.
