CI, Endurance Charges and Darkscorn question
With 9 charges and Darkscorn is it possible to actually get a flat 70% damage reduction from physical damage or is there some kind of cap or the item and charges don't stack properly? Also does the game first calculate the flat reduction and then armor/enfeeble or how does it if not? Because with some armor you could theoretically become quite immune to physical damage this way (which also seems to be the most dangerous damage type in game at the moment).

You can't just add up completely unrelated stats, and a percentage reduction is not a flat reduction by definition :P
First, damage taken is calculated. Enfeeble takes its turn here. Next up, Darkscorn converts 25% of the Physical damage taken. Lastly, Armor and Endurance Charges take their time. You'll be able to take a lot of punishment, but you'll be running around with a Bow all over the place, and since you're rolling CI, your Armor is likely to be on the low end. CI is also a fair walk from Endurance Charge bonuses. A Duelist with Iron Reflexes, Endurance Charges and Darkscorn sounds a bit more like a reasonable proposition :) Less likely to be hurt by the weapon choice. Of course, you'll need Chaos Resistance to make it really work, but you can't have everything. Chaos Resist though? That's possible. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Mar 13, 2013, 4:30:39 AM

" Getting 9 Charges was completely theoretical situation, I was asking whether it is possible or not. 4-6 is easily achievable in a CI build, especially if you start in the Templar area. Also, I was under the impression that Endurance Charges are flat damage reduction calculated before armor? IGN: dedunmamma

Both Armor and Endurance Charges are Reduced Damage Taken, effectively. Increased and Reduced are always additive, and to my knowledge End Charges and Armor are no different. I might just be wrong there.
(and again, they're a percentage, not flat :) ) |
