Players are allowed to leave the game, and players are allowed to give their reasons for leaving the game, after all it's feedback.
Leaving the game can also be one of the best ways to cause change to happen. Companies like GGG would really start to struggle if too many people quit, so there's some good logic behind it. However... A single person leaving the game, whatever the reason, isn't significant enough for any developer to make any sort of change as a direct result. There would need to be a significant number of players quitting over the same issue before it becomes clear that there is a significant problem that needs addressing. What makes things worse is in the majority of cases where a player jumps onto a game's forum and makes a thread saying they're going to quit, the players don't actually follow-through with the threat and tend to stick around, grumbling and complaining about the same issue forevermore. I'm not saying you specifically would do that, but that is the usual expected behaviour in these cases, and you can't blame anyone for being sceptical because the general public cried wolf too many times. Your reasoning that melee is being neglected in favor of spellcasters is sound. You only need look at the statistics for Betrayal to see how witches are pretty much dominating the game, and they'll probably dominate Synthesis too when you consider that hand-casting is being buffed. You're also not alone, and there are a lot of people out there unhappy with the state of melee. You don't need to get caught-up in an argument over whether or not Molten Strike is a melee skill to see that. All I can say about that is we *know* that Grinding Gear Games knows that a good portion of the player base are unhappy with how melee is being treated, and that problem may start to be addressed in 3.7. That's some light at the end of the tunnel I suppose, though far from a promise, and far from a guarantee that any changes they make will satisfy the melee community. We can hope, and right now that's all we can do. But if you're *this* angry about the state of melee, that suggests to me that you only really enjoy melee styles, and have possibly waited for a very long time and not seen any sign that things will improve. If you genuinely cannot enjoy the caster playstyles and classes, there's no point in forcing yourself to make witch after witch while you wait; you are probably better off finding a different game for the time being. If everyone in that position did that, rather than begrudgingly adapt and stick around despite not enjoying the game, the problem might have been fixed by now. So... maybe there might be some good news in three months? |

" you said overleech is THE ONLY way for melee that can survive in the endgame. this is clearly NOT true. people playing juggernaut have killed uber elder many times. alkaizer was a fresh example in SSF, which is impressive as well as with cleave, which is ethical. there are many others who have done ok in the endgame without overleech. hell, for melee overleech isnt even that popular for uber elder kills. its more CASTERS using ascendant slayer leech than melee users spell-abusing kids ? lol again, dont say false shit like 'overleech is the only way for melee to surive in the endgame' because it simply isnt true. you sound just like those who opposed VP nerfs. bu bu poe enemies dish too much damage we need instant sustain. no we don't. |

so? Overleech only lasts for 2.5 or 5 Seconds now.. wont change the fact that you "regenerate" 20%+ of your live after 1 or 2 Hits. The only thing you cant do anymore is beign afk in lab Traps for a minute or delve in the darkness for half an hour with 5 wormflasks.. big woop.

I'm not gonna drop the game because i admit i'm addicted, but what they are doing with melee is just makes me sick.
Development manifesto is just big fuck you to all melee players, they literally just saying "play our new caster spells or don't play at all" Seems like forced meta. |

" Thats exactly what melee is! It works in d3, GD and many many other games. I love it and for me a 2h melee is the only real melee char. I dont want sword'n'board nor dw. Last time i've played this game was domination and my 2h mara with hs/gs was already behind casters. I remember how hard it was to slay atziri with so litle dps windows it was almost impossible. After years i came back to check 'whats new' and i was shocked by the amount of new content. It all felt so good, but my 2h melee char was still far beyond all the casters. Theres still a ton of stuff that ruins the true spirit of a 2h warrior. spells make a battle mage, and all the auras make me feel like retri paladin (which i could live with as i had one in wow for years). Way to many phys>elemental conversions in skill tree and on items that I DONT WANT. I want only WORKING armor (the way the armor works atm is utter crap and completely ruins it for the time when you really need it ) physical dmg increase, high hp, resists that actualy work and leech plus some 'rage' mechanic to let me heal in any way. Thats it. Thats what a creates a template 2h melee char. Damage on a 2h melee char when geared properly is perfectly fine. Solution? Make armor flat % reduction no matter the hit dmg. Add like 30% phys/ele reduction to melee chars Make resists really work so you're not one shot with every bigger boss elemental attack with maxed resists. Remove all those stupid elemental conversions, added elemental damage etc. More phys, more crit, more bleed. Give a 2h user some way to avoid hard hits, because now the only way i have is leap slam and with its hitbox not moving with me untill i land and superlow range all fast sources of damage hit me even if i react to them quick. I remember that in domi i could leap out of the blasts. Solved :P |
