If you read the FAQ you will have the answer to your question OP, simple as that. I think they could sell the game for at least 20 or something, just as Runic did with Torchlight.

I also do not know why this is going to be free! If they were charing you $20 I'd still buy it to try it out, I was actually looking to buy this before I realized it was going to be free
