Noob forum/sticky?

Hello, well I am completely noob at this game. I discovered it, while looking for a decent Online RPG, that is NOT pay to win. I had most recently played Drakensang online, and that was INSANELY Pay to win.

Anyhow, I discovered this game, and the passive skill tree I found quite awesome. ( remined me of FF X) anyhow..I tried the game for a bit, I have a lv 17 SHadow, and he is getting stronger, and cooler abilities..ok.

SO I do some research and watch some videos online, and find ALOT more to this game than meets the eye. And to be honest, is very confusing to me. I look around on the net, and find some help..but, even then, I feel I become confused even more..

Is there some type of complete noob forum/sticky? I cant seem to find one?

Things I think that need to be covered:

1- classes/abilities/skills. How mthey work, what you can do, what is a good way to plan your char, etc.

2- The leauges. Ok, so I started in standard league, but i find that many think of a waste? Ok so i try hard core league. I am being carefull. made it to about lv 7, then got one shot on tidal island, when i could not even see what hit me :(

SO how do the leagues work exactly? What is this "merciless" i keep hearing of? What are the pros/cons of the leagues? And there is NO way to get back to hardcore league upon death?

3- Inventory/item management. I find my inventory fills quickly, and i have to run to my stash after a few kills. What items should you keep? what should you leave on the floor? What should i just sell? What should I keep in my stash, and perhaps sell with other items to get better ones?

From my understanding, the "crafting" in this game is really just selling a certain combination of items, to a vendor, for trade of new item?
DOes it matter what NPC you sell to? Is there some sort of super noob guide?

ANyhow, thanks for any help!
Well, first of all welcome! Don't get to stressed out about how complex it is, no one learned it all in a day so just take it slow.

1 All classes are the same. Any class can be anything and use any equipment. (ex. i can have a mard with a wand and go mage) The only difference is the starting locations and attributes.

2 alot of people regard softcore, or default, as a waste because hardcore drops a lot better items (from what i see and experienced). However, i suggest starting on default to get used to the game then go hardcore when you feel ready. You can never get back to hardcore once you die in it. I'd suggest you watch some streams (kripps is good) to see what merciless is like. Basically, it's extremely hard to survive in.

3 don't pick up everything. Only pick up Rares, blues, multiple, linked items, and superior stuff (depends though on build and space), gems, and better equipment than you have (ex. more armor or life or w/e).

This is not true.

Just to keep you from having to unlearn that later. Drops are the same in either league.
