PS4 Trading System?
I'm not the only one that these bogus "trade deals" happen, I fail to see how bots will ruin the game (are there bots on xbox?) anymore than the 100 gold seller spammers on pc that i have to keep adding to my block list daily.
What would happen with auction house, prices would fall and stabilize since people could pick and choose to shop at their time. Would it really bother you if an auction house was a console only thing? It seems from the xbox players they are complaining about the current trade system. I’m an old guy and I don’t have time to “pussyfoot” around with buying items, I typically have limited time to play and I don’t want to spend 98% of my play time of browsing a website to find an item I really need, send a message and be told over and over it just sold (which is bull), these are the “price fixers” that are trying to lower the price artificially and not honor their price. With an auction house, they WOULD have to honor the price. |

Can someone explain what the API solution is in more detail? Would it resemble the solution Destiny used on PS4 for external inventory transfers through mobile and tablet apps? I imagine being able to list items on public tabs like on PC and get mobile notifications to approve transfers on my phone or tablet based on dm's in app and vice versa to be able to shop to buy and send dm offers
Ex. I want to buy a perfect roll Atziri's Promise for a few Chaos I open the app and use the GGG trade site listing board to narrow to PS4 only and search for listed flasks that exist in public facing inventory tabs. I find the one I want and just like on PC I select a "send whisper" option under the item, the app sends the offer through my playstation account to their dms on PSN and also as a notification through the app. The seller gets a message on the PSN and if they have the app too, on their notification and pending transactions tab in app. If they don't have the app then you coordinate an in person trade through party invite. If they do have the app and select approve in app under a pending trade requests queue, then an NPC in town or hideout now populates the item in inventory at the offered price for lets say 5 minutes. I, the buyer, open the trade menu with the NPC and buy the item, which triggers the removal of the item from the public facing tab on the sellers end. The buyer NPC silent trades the currency to the seller NPC inventory where it holds the currency from the trade as delivery inventory tab for the seller to pick up at their hideout or in town. Most of the features already exist in some form, The item transfer from the stash when transacting with vendors could pull the item (Flask) from the public facing tab on the seller's end, NPC vendors already have non static inventories that must pull from some rng table and would therefore have a script to target where to populate from, just have one pull its table from the public stash tab based on location meta data that's already used on PC for mercury trades triggered by in app approval from seller with all the relevant information hard coded into the pre-generated whisper string (vendor inventory of "psn name of buyer" point to "public tab location of psn name of seller" list price as "offered amount", buyer's vendor silent trades the acquired "offered price" to seller vendor in a pickup inventory distinct from the purchase tab) 4 Variables really that are all information available in the existing pre-generated whisper strings on the trade site. I dunno seems like an auction house has a developer permanent nix on it based on their desire for player interaction of some kind, we could meet in the middle on it and just automate the parts that get way too hard to work around on console and which don't exist on PC because of copy paste and ease of access to external trade sites. Trading is vital to the Path of Exile experience and I have my doubts about the player retention without ease of access to the market forcing an SSF experience. |
