PoE on ps4 announced, you know what this means for us on xbox dont you?

A future Exodus league where all PS4 players pack their shit and hightail it back to PC or XBOX after their Visa is hacked and FedEx shows up with $15K sex dolls at their workplace?

Jailbroken and modded systems leading to a plague of game-wrecking exploits?

Kickback to GGG/Tencent from Sony for providing such as lagfest of visuals on a console that people will pay for yet another between generation console upgrade?

Further division of players?

Probably.

It won't mean much for us in the long run? If by some miracle we get cross play that'd be neat, and it would boost the play count meaning better trade and more competition. That is not going to happen at least no time soon as Bex already said this was not happening.

PS4 being successful or not will have no direct impact on Xbox how could it? It is merely the same as PC to Xbox, unless the Xbox and PS4 team are the same. If that is true then we most likely will just be referred to as the console version of the game. That's as significant as it will get as far as I can see.

People are talking about the game dying on Xbox as if it would have ever been this massive thing that a ton of people would play. PoE is still pretty niche and its biggest component of players is for PC. The players on Xbox are still not skilled enough to even have more than one or two people competing for 100.

If the game is ever going to be big on consoles it will need to be more appealing to a wider audience of players, which might never happen. Anecdotal experience; it seems like there are more players playing this league and for longer then those before. This is reflective of the PC which is in a state of nearly (Or actual) constant growth.

Consoles make up at most 5% of the overall playerbase, to think they'd treat us as good as the 10s of thousands of players on PC is a bit naive. PS4 will obviously get a lot of attention at the launch because they will be more prone to bugs then Xbox and PC due to being a brand new release, past that this means nothing; and this also assumes the dev teams for both versions on console are the same.

Playstation and xbox are rivals, they got game titles which they never will let go to the other.
You are wrong if you think they are going to shake hands because of path of exile.

Reaching 100 is not skill, its about do you like to use your brain or shut it down.
I’m pretty optimistic on the PS4 announcement. I feel like that would have to put more resources in console development so we will probably get features that we have been waiting for like town chat and in game grouping. I mean if Xbox was a failure they wouldn’t have put resources to develop the PS4 version since it’s harder to port while Xbox was sorta copy paste (obviously not that simple).
