Socketed gems are supported by a #x CoC

Having never run a CoC build and never really bothering with an item with the aforementioned gem support,

can someone either direct me to an example set up or give me QnD explanation of what you need to make, say a 6 socket 2H weapon with this stat on it?

From what it looks like to me, I don't need a socketed spell/attack to set it off, I just need to crit from somewhere, is this correct?

Thx

A weapon with "Supported by CoC" essentially is adding an invisible extra Cast on Critical Strike Support gem link to whatever is in the weapon. CoC requires that you link both an attack AND spell to the CoC gem. Therefore, to work, you would need a minimum an attack gem and at least one spell gem socketed and linked in the weapon. Only gems socketed in the same item with the CoC affix will be effected by CoC.

The way CoC works is that you use the linked attack, and if it crits, you automatically cast the linked spell. Using another attack not linked to both CoC and the spell will not trigger anything.
This is a buff™
Thank you.

Another question,

if the socketed skill crits, does that set off another round of casts?
