No sound driver detected - Linux [solved]

I've just reinstalled Linux Mint 19 and Path of Exile (played via Wine and PlayOnLinux) and I found that when I launched the game I had sound during the loading screens but once it got to the login screen or in-game there was no sound and the sound options showed that there was "No Sound Driver Detected."

I checked my PlayOnLinux logs and found an error message relating to sound:

ALSA lib pcm.c:2495:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default

I googled libasound_module_conf_pulse.so and found other people had a similar problem playing other games with Wine and no sound.

The solution was to install libasound2-plugins:i386.

Once I did this, sound worked perfectly in Path of Exile. Hope this may help someone if they are having the same problem.
