Arcane Surge and Ignite ??

Arcane surge does not seem to give any bonus damage to burning damage from ignite after it processes... Other skills that increase cast speed or spell/fire damage seem to increase the damage of ignite....

Is this a bug or what ???

Arcane Surge gives more Spell Damage. Ignite deals Damage over Time, which is not Spell Damage.

Fire Damage increases the damage of Ignite, since Ignite is Fire Damage. But Arcane Surge does not give a bonus to Fire Damage.

Like Abdiel says, the time Arcane Surge triggers, it will not modify the damage of the ignites that are beeing processed, as it only increases spell damage.
The only way to profit from AS on ignites, is if you generate the ignite via a spell, that is, the ignites created by a spell whilst you are under Arcane Surge's effect will be greater, but just because the hit of the spell will be greater.

To clarify: you use Fireball to cause ignite and proliferate, and you hit for 100 fire damage with it, wich ignite's damage is calculated from (40% of it will be the ignite's base damage, plus the applicable modifiers minus the mobs resistance will be the final damage dealt per second by ignite), and imagine you have no bonuses (just to make it easier); you will then do 40 fire damage per second to the affected monsters with ignite.
Now if you are under the effect of Arcane Surge, for example a level 10 one, wich gives you 15% more spell damage, your base fire hit with Fireball would be 115 fire damage, so in this case, the ignite damage would be 46 fire damage per second (for a more in depth explanation of more and increased over stats read this)

That would be roughly the way you could profit of Arcane Surge modifier if you wished to have it applied to ignite.

This is not how it works. If the ignite dps is 40 without Arcane Surge then it is 40 with Arcane Surge as well. (It used to scale off the hit damage before the double dipping removal but it no longer does.)

(Arcane Surge can help a little bit with Ignite due to Fireball having a damage variation - especially its ability to crit. So the cast speed allows for more hits and thus higher expected Ignite damage. But other than that it does "nothing" for Ignite damage.)
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
Then can someone explain what adds damage to ignite from Summoning a Lightning Golem with Liege of Primordial ascendancy ??? I thought cast speed is supposed to increase the damage over time of ignite by processing it faster?

Cast speed does not increase the damage of an Ignite. (You can apply it faster/earlier though.)

With 'Liege of the Primordial' you get 20% increased damage per golem. This is generic damage which also increases Ignite damage. So it is not the Lightning golem buff effect which inreases Ignite damage but the fact that you summoned a golem. If you also have a 'Flame Golem' summoned you will get an increased effect of your Flame Golem buff due to summoning a second (Lightning here) golem. (The Flame Golem buff effect gives generic damage which increases Ignite damage.)

I see. Thanks guys. You rock .
