Could an item like lionseye fall affect ascendancy tree?

I started a duelist Bow build with the intentions of going iron grip, armor evasion hybrid. I'm just now looking into his ascendancy skill tree and notice all damage bffs are primarily melee. I was wondering if I used lionseye fall passive sgem which converts melee bffs in the radius to bow bffs could work on the asce dancy skill tree?
