Elder not exploding

Hi,

I could not find anything on the subject so here it is.

I did elder fight a couple times white/yellow/red. It is the first time that it happened. The elder cancelled (at the 3rd shaper) the phase (literally just teleported out of where he is usually prisoner) where the four shaper appears one by one and channel some beam. After it is as if the initial fight was resumed with elder down to 1/3rd of his life. Killed him. No Zana appeared, no explosion.... So is it a possible outcome of the fight or is it a bug?

Yes, the elder fight can have multiple outcomes.
I believe it has something to do with the shaper being killed while he's doing his thing, and/or the quantity of portals you destroy in time.
What i know for sure is that having Zana causes much better loot (usually at least 2 uniques).
